The word of the day is ceria:

a white-to-yellow, heavy powder,cerium dioxide, CeO 2 , usually derived from cerium nitrate by decomposition with heat: used chiefly in ceramics, glass polishing, and decolorizing (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ceria)
